Stone witnesses digital in Akademie Aktuell

The second issue of the 2025 Journal of the Bavarian Academy of Science was published in mid-July. After an introduction to the project and to Jewish cemeteries in Germany, project staff analyze selected inscriptions, the design of individual gravestones and the topographical arrangement of the cemetery in Walsdorf, which is located near Bamgerg. This not only presents the initial results of their work, but also illustrates the key methods of the three disciplines involved: Jewish studies, building research and digital monument technologies. The focus section ends with an introduction to the project team.
