Project kick-off in Würzburg

Two joint projects of the Bavarian Academy of Sciences and Humanities and the North Rhine-Westphalian Academy of Sciences, Humanities and the Arts have started work in 2023.

The long-term inter-academic project “Forming Europe by overcoming division in the 12th century” has been funded in the research program of the Union of the German Academies of Sciences and Humanities since 2023, just like “Stone Witnesses Digital”. On November 14, 2023, all participants came together for the joint kick-off event at the Schelling Forum of the BAdW in Würzburg. The SZd project managers first introduced the objectives and methodology of our project. Using a selected gravestone from the Jewish cemetery in Walsdorf as an example, the research assistants from the two research centers were then able to illustrate the interdisciplinary cooperation using a concrete example.
